326 pounds

In 6 hours and 30 minutes, I will be meeting with 8 contestants from NBC's The Biggest Loser. . . and I now weigh 326 pounds. That's a whopping 64 pounds since trying out for the show. As I think about what I'm going to say tomorrow. . . all I can do is look back at the old pictures of my former self. What happened to make me gain all that weight in the first place? What was so wrong in my life that I had to be in a self-induced coma of over-eating? I don't honestly know all the answers to why I gained all that weight, but what I do know is that the old way of doing things did not work for me at all. I'm nervous about meeting the contestants of the show tomorrow because part of me still feels like I failed. I know it seems silly, but think about it. My one hope and dream was to be on the show, and I did not get that opportunity. Strangely, I have to face some of my fears tomorrow when meeting with them because they got through to be a contestant on the show. They got the golden ticket, and I was left watching from the sidelines. Sounds like a pity party right? Well, the truth is we do this to ourselves all the time. Whoopi Goldberg once said that "Things in life that happen are the result of silly little coincidences." For example, Pete Thomas was grocery shopping today in Kyle, and I got up the courage to go up and talk to him. Now, mind you, I was not properly dressed. . . but then again who is when they are just out running errands. . . anyway. . .he took the time to get to know me. . . and you know what I think that we shared a moment or was it a funny little coincident? I am humbled and honored to meet with the contestants from the show, and maybe just maybe I have inspired them as much as they have already inspired me! Congrats. . . sincerely. . . on getting the golden ticket!!

The truth is that we all posess the golden ticket for success. A show does not do it. Having money does not do it. Having things handed to you does not do it. All things are possible with God. Phillipians 4:13 says that "I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength." Period. He is our golden ticket, and I'm so blessed to be able to let His light shine through me tomorrow.

God Bless and
Remember that Life Begins when You Start Living. . . For Him!!
